Thomas Gibson, 44, who is best known as Greg on Dharma & Greg, talked to Parade Magazine about what his life is like with children. Since his family lives in San Antonio, but his new show Criminal Minds keeps him in Los Angeles, he sees his children during weekends,
[My wife] Cristina will say, ‘Enjoy your nap on the plane.’ That’s the most sleep I’ll get after I hear those voices calling, ‘Let’s play Daddy Monster!’ They have insatiable energy. My mother tells me I was just like that—bouncing off the walls.
He has learned how to raise children from his mother.
It’s [his childhood] made me realize that I don’t want to suffocate my children. It’s hard not to do. In a few years, my kids will tell you otherwise, but I think that I am pretty sensitive to it.
Thomas has taken a few cues about fatherhood from his character Hotch on Criminal Minds,
As an FBI agent, ‘Hotch’ has a big responsibility. He also thinks about giving his little boy a better life. Believe me, I think about that with my sons and daughter. It’s a very tricky thing.
Gibson has sons J.P., 7, and Travis, 4 1/2 and daughter Agatha Marie, 2 1/2, with wife Cristina.

Jenna Elfman, who enjoyed success on Dharma & Greg and not-so-much success on the comedy Courting Alex, is going to give it another try. The new single-camera comedy, called Literary Superstar, comes from Darren Star and stars Elfman as a book publicist. She’s the publicist with a heart, but the threat of budget cuts make it harder for her to hang on to her clients. She does manage to strike a deal with the corporate powers-that-be to maintain her smaller “quirkier†authors. And you just know that quirkier translates to comedy. ‘Cause quirky folks sure are funny. Currently, Elfman is tied up with a bun in the oven, but once she has the baby, she is on board to begin filming in the fall.
As if America’s favorite family didn’t have enough real-life game-playing to deal with, they’re inviting a rival clan over for a cutthroat night of board games in the April 15 episode, “Game Night.†Playing the nemeses of Kitty and Nora, respectively, will be Jenna Elfman and Susan Sullivan, who played wacky wife and disapproving mother-in-law in the sit-com
Dharma & Greg.
According to an ABC press release, “Elfman plays the pregnant Lizzie Jones-Baker and Sullivan is Miranda Jones. In the episode, the Walkers challenge the Jones family to a long overdue family game night rematch and invite Rebecca to play along.†I don’t know, if I were Rebecca, this is the sort of thing that would make me wonder if this having a family thing is worth the trouble. Maybe she could just grab a crate of wine and go hide in the closet.
Actress JENNA ELFMAN has announced she’s expecting a baby boy with her husband BODHI.
The couple revealed the happy news in January but refused to name the sex of their firstborn.
But the former DHARMA & GREG star broke the news while promoting her guest spot on an upcoming episode of US TV drama BROTHERS & SISTERS.
Jenna Elfman plays Kate Houghton in Looney Tunes Back in Action.
Kate Houghton is the Vice President of Comedy at Warner Bros. She needs to fire Daffy Duck because he isn’t funny enough. But this brings a lot of trouble. It turns out that DJ Drake’s (Brendan Fraser) father is a spion and he is in danger. DJ needs to find the bleu monkey to save the world and his father. When Kate finds out that DJ is gone to Vegas. She goes to Vegas too to find DJ and help him.

Jenna Elfman as Alex Rose and Josh Randall as Scott Larson
The rest of the cast: Badney Coleman as Bill Rose, Hugh Bonneville as Julian, Jillian Bach as Molly and Josh Stamberg as Stephen
About the Show
COURTING ALEX stars Golden Globe Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Jenna Elfman, Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winner Dabney Coleman, Hugh Bonneville, Josh Randall, Jillian Bach and Josh Stamberg in a new comedy series about an attractive, single attorney who has everything life has to offer…except a life.
Alex (Elfman) works alongside her father, Bill (Coleman), at his law firm, and while he is very proud of her, it pains him that his daughter is not married yet. If Bill had his way, Alex would settle down with her colleague, Stephen (Stamberg), a star lawyer at their firm who is obviously smitten with Alex. Julian (Bonneville), Alex’s charming British neighbor, who makes his living as an artist, and Molly (Bach), her loyal and brutally honest assistant, are the two people she chooses to lean on for advice. But no amount of advice could prepare her for the unexpected feelings she’s having for Scott (Randall), an impulsive, renaissance man she recently met while trying to negotiate a deal involving his tavern. If Alex can put down her cell phone for long enough, her successes in love just might catch up to an already successful career.
